Does the Xtreamer Prodigy support firmware upgrades ?

Yes. It is fully Firmware Upgradable. 

Upgrading the device firmware is done in a little different way on the Prodigy.

You should download the file (install.img) copy it to the root of a USB stick, plug the USB, make sure the device is off, and than long press the device Power button for around 10 sec.
The device LED will initially turn on and after few sec it will turn off. Once the blue LED turns off release your finger from the power button and then the upgrade process screen will show up on your TV.
