HDMI Output options (for audio) - explained

If the Xtreamer is
"directly connected" to a surround sound amplifier via HDMI. The "HDMI
Output" option offers the following: -
5.1CH/7.1CH
Passes 2Ch and multi-channel bit-stream audio formats, such as: Dolby
Digital (AC3), DTS. Along with Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD
HR and DTS-HD MA
Transcodes non bit-stream audio formats, such as: 2Ch and multi-channel
AAC-LC/HE/PS, Cook, FLAC, MP2, MP3, Monkeys Audio, PCM, Vorbis, WMA to a
2Ch PCM audio stream
2.1CH
Transcodes all bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream.
Transcodes non bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream.
Multi CH
Transcodes all bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream.
Transcodes all supported non bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch or multi-channel PCM audio stream.

Transcodes all bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream**

Transcodes all bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream.
Transcodes non bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream.
Multi CH
Transcodes all bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream.
Transcodes non bit-stream audio formats to a 2Ch PCM audio stream.
** HDMI v1.4 compliant TV's with "return
channel" should be able to pass a viable 2Ch or multi-channel
bit-stream via HDMI (or even via SPDIF) to a suitable surround sound
amplifier.
Sufficed to say, the 2.1CH option does not actually offer a discrete LFE channel.
