Internet Connection using router
1. Definition
Router setup is used to grant Internet users access to an e-TRAYz on your network.
※ This step can be skipped if you are not connected to the Internet via a router.
※ Not all routers provide these functions. Different router models may use different terminology. For more detailed information refer to the router's manual.
|
※ UPnP Port Mapping : UPnP port mapping can be used to access devices on your LAN from the Internet. Devices on the LAN are identified by a port number. Your router has to support UPnP Port mapping in order to use this function.
※ DMZ : DMZ can be used to access a single device on your LAN from the Internet. If DMZ option is used then only e-TRAYz can be accessed.
※ Port Forwarding(Virtual Server) : Port Forwarding can be used to access devices on your LAN from the Internet. Devices on the LAN are identified by a port number. |
* We recommend to use DMZ because it is simpler to setup than Port Forwarding
* If you are using both DMZ and Port Forwarding simultaneously, Port Forwarding will be applied prior to DMZ.
2. Router Setting
- Connect the e-TRAYz to a router or modem via a LAN cable.
- Select one of two following options.
1. Using router's UPnP function.
(1) Login to your router and activate the UPnP function.
(2) Log out.
(3) Login to e-TRAYz main menu page and go to [Setup Wizard]-[Router] menu.
(3) Select ‘Use router's UPnP function’ button.
(4) Click ‘Go to UPnP setup’ button then UPnP setting page will appear.
(5) Mark ‘Activate router port mapping function using UPnP’ checkbox and then click 'Change Setup' button. Then you will see Port mapping settings.
(5) Enter a port number you want and click ‘Apply’ check box and 'Change Setup' button.
(6) Log out of e-TRAYz.
UPnP port mapping function may not work in following cases.
• If router does not support UPnP protocol
. • If router's UPnP IGD can not communicate with e-TRAYz UPnP Client.
• Router may loose mapping information after a reboot. In this case you will need to configure it again.
2. Using router's DMZ or Port Forwarding (Virtual Server) function.
(1) Login to your router.
(2) For DMZ go to DMZ setup Menu. You may need to activate your router's Firewall first.
- enter IP address of e-TRAYz to IP input box.
(3) For Port Forwarding(Virtual Server),go to Port Forwarding setup menu.
- enter IP address of e-TRAYz to IP input box.
- enter port number used by e-TRAYz to port input box.
- enter protocol to protocol input box.
(4) Log out.
