Xtreamer Support System

How do I backup and play my DVDs?

  1. While the Xtreamer is designed to play most popular media files and formats of movies and music you can find in the internet for download somtime you will come across a DVD that that you want to play in its original structure. The Xtreamer is the simplest unit to play and store your entire DVD collection in one digital Ultra portable place.

  2. Backing up and playing DVD files is an extremely simple process with Xtreamer Media Players. All you have to do is to transfer all your DVD files (.VOB and .IFO) from your DVD to your Xtreamer HDD. Put all of these files in one folder (e.g. name of the movie/video).

Once all these files are in a folder on the Xtreamer, simply connect the Xtreamer to you TV and navigate to enter the folder. Select "Play" and the movie will start exactly like your DVD. You can use the DVD menus to choose languages/subtitles, etc., just like a DVD playback.

Another simpler way to for playing DVD's, and the way to playback using the Xtreamer: Just select and play the first file, VIDEO_TS.IFO. If you have built your DVD structure correctly, it should play just fine with all menus and features.

Alternatively, you can also create an ISO image of your DVD. Xtreamer Media Players support ISO playback also!

Some DVD files have an embedded parental control setting. This setting may not allow you to play the movie unless this feature has been disabled. See our FAQ on "How do I Disable Parental Management Control."
