What is iXtreamer?

iXtreamer is a multimedia player - a consumer electronics device that is capable of storing and playing digital media files on a television or audio system. The media files themselves could be stored on an internal hard drive, external storage device, or streamed over network or from the Internet.

A multimedia player allows you to get rid of your bulky CD and DVD collections and to stream your digitized music, video files and photos to your TV instead of listening or watching them on a computer.

The Xtreamer company has already produced some of the best players in the industry and definitely the best players in their price range. Now with iXtreamer we are opening a new dimension to media players by connecting them to the wonderful world of Apple devices.

How easy is iXtreamer to operate?

Just a little over a year ago very few people were aware of the existence of media players and they were nothing more than expensive and complicated geek toys, but - thanks to the Xtreamer company - media players are now considered a logical next step from a DVD player.

Our devices are very easy to operate. We don't make them for software engineers; we want everyone to be able to use and to enjoy them.

I have an iPod dock. Why do I need iXtreamer?

Most of the iPod/iPhone docks are nothing more than glorified chargers and/or speakers for your Apple system. iXtreamer has a truly unique ability to play all the media files you store on your Apple device on a TV or an audio system.

Plus, how many of these docks work with iPad?

But can iXtreamer still charge my iPod/iPhone/iPad?

Yes. It can charge your Apple device even when it is switched on. And you will even be able to update the firmware of your device.

Why do I need a media player? I have a PC and/or DVD.

Connecting a computer to a TV and configuring necessary software and codecs can by complicated and time-consuming. And, of course there is an issue of power consumption. A properly configured PC for HD playback, most popularly known as Home Theater PC or HTPC often comes with a thirsty 550W power supply.

Owing an Xtreamer media player will save you time and money.

As for a DVD it's simple. DVD players have a tiny fraction of features our device has and they force you to have those bulky disk collections. With iXtreamer you can have your entire media library on its internal drive.

Do I need any special software to operate iXtreamer?

No. The player comes with all the necessary software.

We release updates on the regular basis - providing new features and improvements - and they are very easy to install.

Do I need a hard disk to play media files?

While there are some features that require your iXtreamer to have some kind of storage you can enjoy the player without an internal hard drive. You can play movies, music files and images from an external USB device or over network (from a computer or a NAS). You can stream from a wide variety of Internet feeds and channels. And of course you can play files from your iPod/iPhone/iPad.

Having an internal hard disk simply provides you with a fast and easy access to your media library.

Does iXtreamer come with a hard drive installed?

The Xtreamer company does not sales multimedia players with pre-installed drives. But you can use any 3,5" hard drive up to 3TB.

So do I need an HD TV to use iXtreamer?

Of course not: you can connect it just about to any television. However you have to understand that to enjoy the best quality and High-Definition content you need an HDTV.

Can I surf the Internet with iXtreamer?

Very soon you will be able to. Meanwhile you can choose from thousands of life feeds and online channels.

Can I use my Apple apps on iXtreamer?

This is something we are working on. However this is largely depends on our Apple partners.
