If you have installed latest version 3.5 RC9 on your Xtreamer Prodigy this thread is for you .
We are happy to introduce you a new method of installation fro RSS based applications.
This method could be implemented easily to any project this community made and save us all from the hastle to FTP to the device and use difficult commands and hard syntax.
The idea is simple : you get a .pkg file , you navigate to it from your machine media library (you can copy it to your HDD or USB) and once clicked the file ENTER the installation process will start. The application you have just installed will be waiting for you in the Premium Apps section (Home/Apps/App)
The package file is actually a .tar that was renamed to .pkg
it contains an XML file , and it support images as well as your RSS script based code.
If you are navigating the Premium Apps section of your device you will be able to get an information about the particular application as made by the author (and stored inside the XML file which is part of the package) .
here is what the .pkg include inside :
if you will untar the file this is what you will get.
if you will modify the file as necessary and compress it with tar and than rename the .tar compressed file to .pkg you will be able to generate an installation package yourself.
