Dear Friends and Xtreamer Community Members,

As we promised just a few days ago we are bringing OpenELEC firmware to your Xtreamer Wonder Pro devices in order to give you an opportunity to enjoy your KODI as you have never experienced it before.

OpenElec is a Linux compilation build from the scratch to run Kodi. With OpenELEC your machine will behave like an embedded operating system built around KODI – the open source entertainment media hub. It is designed to be as lightweight as possible in terms of size and complexity, meaning your Wonder becomes no harder to configure than your satellite box or DVD player. With its small footprint, OpenELEC is also ideal for today's small form factor systems, so you won't need a big desktop computer in your living room!

Once you've installed this firmware version, your device will run KODI (Isengard 15.2) optimized for use with a remote control based on and the latest stable OpenELEC distribution. We added to full language support and a few recommended repos. This version will let you sit back, relax and be entertained with your Wonder as if it is a set-top box based on KODI. The system is tailored to your most demanding needs of KODI with a special focus for torrent streaming.

While Xtreamer is probably one of the first (if not the only vendor) to offer this kind of major
updated firmware for their Amlogic s812H systems and while most of our competitors from
China focus on price and extremely low level of support for their international customers, we believe this update will allow you to appreciate the new TV Home screen as a fantastic interface. That is if you’re happy to abandon Google’s ecosystem and prepared to control your device via KODI interface.

Please note: if you use many Android apps or just want to use your Xtreamer Wonder Pro to play games, this update might not be for you.

Please consider this version as an option you now have. Should you want to go back to the AndroidTV version you can still do it at any time using the full manual procedure.

We hope you will find this will enhance your Xtreamer Wonder Pro to an extent that, in a way, it will become a totally new device. We deliver this version to you to put all Wonder users in par with the latest developments of this market.

Enjoy it, share your experience, help us making it better and remember: Xtreamer, Why pay more?!

Please note:

In order for your Wonder to function well on this new Linux environment you will have to first manually set the Time and Date settings within the OpenELEC Settings tab. Without it you might not be able to connect to the Internet.

Navigate to KODI Settings > OpenELEC > NETWORK > TIMESERVER1# > pool.ntp.org > DONE
Reboot your device to take effect

Due to the major changes this build introduce we refrained offering you this update via our OTA servers.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

* Please remember: this is a beta release with a major updated system, the process may fail the first time you try. Please retry following the exact instructions below

** This update should be performed using a USB disk formatted to FAT32. Your Xtreamer Wonder regards it as and external storage/UDISK

PLEASE READ BEFORE RUNNING THE PROCEDURE

(1) STEP 1: Download the update zipped file from HERE - http://download.xtre...THIS_FOLDER.zip

(2) STEP 2: Extract the file to your PC

(3) STEP 3: Copy the extracted zip file content to the root of a USB disk formatted FAT32 (NTFS will not work)
These are the files you should have inside the USB :
OpenELEC-Amlogic.arm-XTWPRO-6.0.0.2-update_v1.1.zip - 114 MB file size ———>the Firmware
factory_update_param.aml - 83 Bytes file size ——→install script
recovery.img - 7.3 MB file size ——→Recovery file

(4)STEP 4: In this stage we will try to allow the update script to wipe your system and install itself automatically within the RECOVERY mode. In order to do this we need you to get into recovery mode.

Follow these steps to get into recovery mode:

(1) Insert your USB disk into the middle USB host slot in your Xtreamer Wonder.
(2) Connect the HDMI cable to the TV and your Wonder Pro and make sure the TV is on
(3) Remove the power cable from the Xtreamer Wonder Pro
(4) At the back of your Wonder Pro you will see a tiny hole under the network port. Use a sharp toothpick or a paperclip and press the tiny reset button under the network port, continue pressing it while you insert the power cable to its place. Keep pressing the reset button and now watch the screen for the operation to start. It may take 5-10 secs to start.
When you will see on the screen an update logo you can remove the toothpick from the RESET button and let the machine be updated.

* If for some reason your machine failed the update process automatically you should try again or perform the update process manually. Go into recovery mode using the toothpick and RESET method described above.

First: Wipe Factory Reset and Clean Cache Partition. Then go back to the Main Menu of the
recovery screen and Select install update from external storage===>udisk and select the zip file
you copied to the USB. Select install and wait for about 10 min for the process to be finish. The machine will restart automatically. Please be patient and don't interrupt the process.

(5) STEP 5: The machine will restart itself once the update operation will be complete.

(6) STEP 6: The OpenELEC Setup wizard will let you choose your system name and services accordingly.

(7) STEP 7: VERY IMPORTANT!!!! Setup the Xtreamer Wonder Time and Date. Ignoring this step will result in failure of internet connection to function properly.

Navigate to KODI Settings > OpenELEC > NETWORK > TIMESERVER1# > pool.ntp.org > DONE
Reboot your device to take effect

Important Notes

* Your Xtreamer Wonder will now run the new modern KODI only ecosystem based on Linux called OpenELEC. It comes built-in with native support for our AirMouse and AirMouse Pro key-maps.

Should you want to enhance the usage of this environment to the maximum we recommend you to install the Ares Wizard - https://seo-michael....es-wizard-kodi/

Installation troubleshooting

* If your device gets stuck during the installation (animated progress bar is no longer moving) wait for 5-7 minutes and then remove the power cord. Plug the power back in and the machine will finish the installation

* If you are unable to update (the device starts normally and boots into Android) try using the 3rd USB port – the one closer to the back panel

* If that doesn't help, try another USB stick
