I've installed firefly too. And can't login too. Tried login 'sysadmin' and password 'sysadmin', tried login 'admin' and pasword 'sysadmin', then tried login 'sysadmin' and my password to APP Installer. Tried diferent combinations. None of them worked.

UPDATED: Sorry, after restart eTrays, login worked.

So what is correct login-password ?

:) it works now, but i have to start it via console.

Were you able to get Firefly to auto start upon powering up the Etrayz? My Firefly works great but like you, I have to start it via console even if Auto Startup is "enabled".

Thats odd. Init script just starts:

/home/epkg/sbin/mt-daapd -c /home/sysadmin/.mt-daapd/mt-daapd.conf

This should be no problem to execute on startup.

I know, even more after 1.0.7, but it never worked.
So I used a cron to check&start if required.

In my case is a needful thing, cause Ubuntu's RhythmnBox breaks the server.

THJ can you make a new package for App Installer with latest forked-daap source and compile it with FLAC support?

New iPod touch is on its way...and would like to test some things (Remote App for ipod should work with latest forked-daap).

Thanks

Problem with forked-daap is that it requires few special libraries which needs to be again compiled in special way. Few months ago I played with this but gave up. I now have a new cross-compiler enviroment but zero time during this last years days to play with it again.

I'll see what I can do after I sober up :).

I'm using firefly already quite some years on my nas with great pleasure. Especially the dynamic playlist feature is very nice.

Do you know how the xtreamer can play music from a daap server?
(So instead of streaming it to another device)

Is there any update on future development to get this functionality in place?

Or am I the only one that would like to listen to a local stream on my xtreamer connected to the hifi?
How are others doing this?

AFAIK daapd is an Apple protocol. Not sure how to implement this inside Xtreamer. You can use MiniDLNA and Xtreamer UPnP discovery to play songs on it.

Thanks for the reply.

In a way it should not be too hard to have this functionality in place. Since it is possible to install these clients on the Xtreamer. The only thing that is needed is to tell the xtreamer to output the stream to the hifi instead of the webinterface. Or am I thinking too narrow minded? :)

Hi THJ! With iTunes 10.5.2 the internal daap server is down. I installed the last version of Firefly, but isn't run as daap server in my iTunes (new and old version). Is it possible returned at the previous version of iTunes daap Server (preinstalled inside every firmware until version 1.0.4 but poorly configured) that run correctly in the old version of iTunes? Is there any other solution to create in etrayz a daap server? Thank you!

Firefly is no longer developed. There is a new app called forked-daapd but eTRAYz OS is too old to run it.
