As we all know integrated eTorrent uses rTorrent client which is outdated (0.8.3) and GUI is lacking functionality.

I compiled latest 0.8.6 version and added some hopefully correct default setting.

Also included is the ruTorrent GUI which looks great and has tons of option and extra plugins.

When you install this package he will prevent integrated rTorrent to autostart and instead autostart my version. When uninstalled the old rTorrent will be restored again.

Restart process AFTER INSTALLING my package. This will kill old integrated 0.8.3 version and start my own one.

You can then use ruTorrent to manage it. Access is password protected with .htacccess. To change password type in SSH:

htpasswd -b -m /home/sysadmin/WWW/rutorrent/.htpasswd admin NEWPASSWORD

or use DirectoryPass application from packages.

To use RSS feed, first one should manualy add its RSS URL to "Feeds" group. So one needs to know that URL first.
Let's add Isohunt as an example.
Go to Isohunt site (http://isohunt.com/torrents/?ihq=) and find RSS mark in upper left corner. Right-click on it and chose "copy link" (or something else, depending on your browser).
Now, open ruTorrent gui, navigate to left-middle column and find "All feeds" place.
Right-clic on it and chose "Add RSS feed" option. Left-click and you have a dialog window to add this feed. You paste Isohunt URL that you have got previously and input some name for that feed ("isohunt", of course  )

Now you have your feed ready to use. On the start it will update list and you can anytime update it manualy by right-clicking in that feed and chosing "Update feed" (and lot of other options on right-click!)

Now, if you decide to start downloading something - right click on its name in main list and chose "Load" - the torrent will start . Double-click on the name will lead to Isohunt site for this torrent comments etc.

Just as easy as that.
Then you may add one-by-one as much feeds as you need (and find!)

I think yes. But pointless. Just use ruTorrent GUI.

Thank you very much! Just greate! Only one addition (not to change the whole package, can be done be anyuser himself):
- it may be good to add
check_hash=no
option into
rtorrent.rc
to skip checking hash of already downloaded files and start uploading it immediately - otherwise hash would be checked each time after ET reboot (if any)
(at least it was that way before...)

Well noted. Post as much wishes as possible. Then I make a package update.

And yes. It has a RSS plugin. Didn't test. That I leave for actual users. I am more of a Usenet guy.

Its all about regex expression. When I come home, I´ll set it up to all my shows, and then, i put my regex on here.

BTW, BIG THANK YOU Hijacker. Now I'm gonna donate, surely.

Same here, and some warnings:

Quote

[22.06.2010 12:32:31] WebUI started.
[22.06.2010 12:32:33] Throttle plugin: this version of rTorrent doesn't support throttle. Plugin will not work.
[22.06.2010 12:32:33] You must have rTorrent >= 0.8.5 in order to see chunk progress! Your client reports: 0.8.3
[22.06.2010 12:32:33] Ratio plugin: this version of rTorrent doesn't support ratio. Plugin will not work.
[22.06.2010 12:32:34] SeedingTime plugin: this version of rTorrent doesn't support this plugin. Plugin will not work.

EDIT:

Just reboot your eTrayz and now using 0.8.6 sucessfully!

I don't know why but you do not have rtorrent 0.8.6 running - it is 0.8.3, this set of plugins cannot work with it. I guess that THJ will do something about it, but I guess that BEFORE installing it you should manualy issue (in putty, of course)
/etc/init.d/rtorrent stop
and install new package after that.

PS. Just took a look at rtorrent.0.8.6-1.xml. I am not sure, but I think that installer
- removes rtorrent 083 fm autostart (but does not stop rtorrent proccess)
- installs rtoeent 086, starts it as option and enables autostart as option.
So previouse rtorrent 083 is not stopped...

I just did a reboot, after installing 086 (without doing nothing else) and now everything works fine!

EDIT: You know if I can continue a torrent thats halfway downloaded in transmission on rtorrent? And wheres transmission stores the .torrent?

surely you can do that as long as *.torrent file is the same and you point to half-downloaded files in etorrent directory, but sorry, dont know much about tranmission...tried it once and dropped (deluge also) becouse of gui.
As for reboot - sure, it is a way. After reboot old etc/init.d/rtorrent is disabled from autostart and new /etc/init.d/rtorrent-thj is enabled and autostarted.

One more trick about new gui.
If you are not satisfied with new "dark" look of gui (too dark and hard to read for me), you can always get back to usual look by disabling (could not find the way, actualy) or simlply deleting directory "darkpal" from homesysadminWWWrutorrentplugins

Yes. Forgot to add. Restart process after your install my version. That will kill integrated 0.8.3 and start my own compiled 0.8.6 version and all plugins should work.

Please report how to use RSS.

I love the feedback till now and thank you all for donations.

To use RSS feed, first one should manualy add its RSS URL to "Feeds" group. So one needs to know that URL first.

Now, if you decide to start downloading something - right click on its name in main list and chose "Load" - the torrent will start . Double-click on the name will lead to Isohunt site for this torrent comments etc.

Just as easy as that.
Then you may add one-by-one as much feeds as you need (and find!)

Thanks Mikhail99!!!
The think is much more complicated and much more interesting than that, and i will explain why
First, for private trakers you need to take this command from the rss feed "hxxp://sometorrentsite.com/rss.php:COOKIE:uid=1234;pass=asdjh12378912y3lkj" then add to rss feed, and from there you add as filters the favorite show and quality, but and here is the really great deal, the show it will be start download automatic, no need to stay and see what is new and so on.... when the show is up on the traker, max one minute the download is starting.
Those are available in utorr, also i set in rtorr the lines for automatic feed but i don't know how to sort and filtering the show. Atention also because the user id and the pass from the traker are not the same as you log in, but you can find it from the cookies page

As i said before after you add an rss feed when you want to ad a show is appear
""/^Show.S03E01.720p.HDTV.x264-group$/"

or "/^Show.720p.HDTV.x264-group$/" and now maybe get down all episodes...or

"/^Show-group$/" all quality bu just from the specified group
but like this
"/^Show" is not working

so here is need to work to add or remove symbols....i guess..
