5600 files scanned in 27 minutes. Took hours before....

Seems to run fine. Just seem to be some icons missing in the squeezeserver webgui, at Internetradio

Very nice to see they improved it that much. But it is 100MB on size now. I bet there are tons of stuff inside you don't need to have. MySQL is one now for example.

It is complete rewritten and i use on etrayz version 7.7 developement. This is the reason i do not like to change the settings and do a downgrade in my etrayz. The future will be more speed special for slow machines and slowly integrating more to act as server also for different multimedia files. Something like the PS3 photo show for example.
Version 7 have some nice features in this. And special Erland is looking to write new plugins in this. It was integrate in 7.60 but cancelt for the official update in the 7.6x branch.

Still running flawlessly. Server.log is not showing any error at all! Just four pngs seem to be corrupted; they are 811 kb, and seem empty. Thye're in the Internetradio section. Anyone has this same problem?

The bug that SS doesn't scan library if playlistfolder is inside musicfolder is solved in firmware 7.6.1., according to bugfixes for that version.

I do not have time for the moment to look inside the new installation. But it seems inside the squeezebox package is still the mysql database include and the mysql daemon runs. I got this info from the forum and i did look at my windows laptop and there is still mysql. On faster machines its not a problem but from logical point we have now on etrays 2 mysq running and additional the sqlite - i do not know it takes effect but maybee in one of the next installations inside the script can be prove the mysql can be autodelete. maybee someone with linux skills delete the mysql for testing propose and comes to the result that etrays again is faster.

i did not find a info why in the version 6.1 still mysql is inside the sbs??? The developement forgot it to delete?

Which City you live? At the moment i concentrate a little bit to make to make a VDR - Server http://www.linuxtv.o...x.php/Main_Page

The advantage is the recordings and live view of tv stations. In general i think its possible to act in a mini distribution as a soft encryption server maybee you search for example for SC-Plugin and VDR. As far i know its legal in Romania. And i hope you can find out for me the Channels list of Satelite and Cable TV.

Flipflip did not post inside the forums but in the bugtracker. He did recomend to fix a bug what is as far as i see not relevant for etrayz but for those who like to be close to flip flip experience i post here his suggestion. I did try the patch and somehow it speeds up my Etrayz scanning process. I was wondering how this comes and do not find out the reason. I strongly suggest to do this patch only for advanced users because i am be shure somehow it will be include in next update. Maybee improved.

Future view: Social Music Discovery (SMD) project

After one year of developement of arround 10-15 developers there will be shortly open a new Squeezeboxproject and given as a first testing. This will be not special run on eTRAYZ because it needs Java 6 to be implement and eTrayz power is to much low by RAM and CPU.

I look forward that inside a house and home network in regular run other PCs at the same time that can take over some functionality not to slow down and in parts lets use it with etrayz together. In fact if you own a xtreamer Ultra it can be installed independant and working together. Something like a 1 GHZ CPU and 500 GB RAM will be fine.

I did sort out a working together Installation today. For beginners i suggest for the moment to install for testing propsses a Squeezboxserver on your laptop and follow the process of developement.

My idea i try to push inside the devolopers area is to get the possibility for a push and fetch possibility of the database that can be done of a more powered machine and taken than by etrayz to run.

I hope to get success with it.

Since i saw there is noone testing the new plugin what is a predevelopement for Sueezeboxserver 7.70 i like to tell there is a official new version by flipflip for SSODS.

this version is intensive tested and should include the /temp bugfix patch. I hope some did follow the bugreport discussion and are informed what influence are there for further 7.70 developement. Fact is in summary that the earlier announced patch from flipflip did not work correct inside the SBS itself and for this he did make it possible to fix it directly inside SSODS.

To notify Logitech Music server is out. Include now DLNA and support Video, Music and Pictures. including transcoding. Stay tuned to get the etrayz version.

Squeezebox users compared to 7.6.x basically is:
- Possibility to configure multiple music folders
- Possibility to browse photos stored in the server (through Extras/Image Browser)
- Possibility control playback with a generic UPnP client, for example Windows Media Player, foobar and similar applications upporting UPnP/DLNA.

Except for this the news are related to non Squeezebox owners, which basically means:
- Possibility to stream music, video, photos to Logitech Revue
- Possibility to stream music, video, photos to TV's, DVD-players and other devices which act as a UPnP/DLNA client

I did install 7.7 and feel unlucky. Scanner process is running now since hours. Maybee the reason is my large ammount of pictures. Anyone else did try it?

Hi,
someone has installed on your eTRAYz a usb sound device?

My intention is to use Squeezebox server to listen to music from Spotify without turning on the computer, directly from the amplifier eTRAYz attached to music and use my phone as a client with a squeezebox remote android.

For this I need to install the Squeezebox slave and requires a sound card to do this I need to install a usb sound card.

I tried installing the ALSA driver but will not let me compile the kernel eTRAYz.

Could anyone help me with some other solution or the same that it works?.

There is a squeezeslave package inside APP Installer. It also includes the USB Sound Adapter drivers. Give that a try.

I installed a squeezeslave package from APP Installer and the result was that it had no sound card. I will try again, i may not realize the drivers, thank you.
