I usualy take flipflip installation application from here:

Then folow instructions and when finished repackage everything in APP Installer package. As this is a huge package it takes me couple of hours to finish it. Since flipflip's last version supports 7.6.1 and not 7.7 I will need to wait for newer version from him.

And its good to do so for the Moment i think. I follow in regular the inside discussions of the developers carefully. I did notyfy something. Normal there is a big announcement if there is a new version available.
7.7 is the first time since years Logitech did announce nothing. ... a very special situation because there is a rename from Squeezeboxserver to Logitechserver.

I SEE SOMETHING IN FUTURE

The HiJacker i suggest you: If there is a new Version available seperate it maybee to a New package and let the Squeezeboxserver as Squeezebox. Logitechserver will be something different as far my little nose smelth the things correct.

Ahhh the DLNA Server works good. but to Scan my more than 10000 Fotos and the Movies i have it needs 3 days (on my 2.2 GHZ Laptop : No hurry to update something unless you whish not much complaints...

Since today a first testing version for etrayz is running of the Logitech Media Server 7.7

I am testing to run also DLNA Server and for music i did not find any hint or problem. In this version its possible to use different libaries of media files inside one server. So i did connect to my libary inside eTRAYZ and additional on to 3 different libaries inside the house at the same time. So i run for TV different Multimediaboxes with VDR and Reelbox lite or Activy GEN2VDR solutions. The mediaserver can sample all together. What the mediaserver is not doing for the moment is transcoding videos.

I still hope for a solution to install some Java on our Etrayz. The Geeks of Synology and Qunap do have Jave from Sun running now. So its possible for Etrayz too.

Any developer there with interest to support Java?

Have SBS running smoothly on eTrayz, but would like to connect wireless to xTreamer as client and output sound over HDMI or audio out (analog). Any squeezeslave package I could use for xTreamer ?

Probably not. flipflip only made packages for ARM CPU. Prodigy has Mipsel. Look here:

There is ipkg package for SBS mipsel you can try to install on Prodigy.

As I said before all the packages are already ready. We are just waiting for final 3.5 firmware that will enable easily installing them. When new fw is released I need to rested them all again then release APP Installer 3.0.4.0 that has support for Prodigy.

You can see all the packages ready in first post of this topic. If you are a little bit of linux expert you can play with them already. You can download them from here:

I tried the prodigy package squeezeslave on xtreamer mk1... it's NOT working... could you compile this pkg for xtreamer mk1 pls ?

No I can't. Different CPU then eTRAYz. I don't have toolchain to compile. You need to contact authors of XMP. Maybe they can compile it for you. Also not sure MK1 has all the drivers to output the sound.

You are always talking about squeezeslave (the player), not the server, am I right?

In anycase, I am quite linux literate, but I still don't know how to have a shell on the Prodigy. How to do that?

Slave yes. Server for now is a no go. But it is Perl based so maybe it could at some point work.

To get terminal shell use Putty.

By default it is running telnet. Use username root without password. Firmware 3.5 will also have SSH/SFTP server installed.

I've took the QNAP package of latest version of server and made APP Installer package out of it. It is a big one! 150MB to be exact. So it will take time to install.

If anyone is still using this on eTRAYz give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

Also before you ask. This is available for eTRAYz only as there are no packages for mipsel made.
