...and it's possible to compile with the UTF8 patch?

Quote

LOCALES ISSUES ( _____.avi )

I have tried to solve this issue by patching the CVS sources in order to force UTF8 charset. Some users have used patched cores with success please try the cores and give feedback.

With UTF8 support? thanks!!! is more stable than aMule. 20 days without stopping my eTRAYz!!!!!

The only issue is the character support. MLdonkey rename this "Sense ficció 2x36 Adéu, Espanya (HDTV 720p).mkv" to "Sense ficci_ 2x36 Ad_u, Espanya (HDTV 720p).mkv"

I gave mldonkey another shot. Cross-compiling it always failed. So did today. So I started to compile nativly on eTRAYz with expected time to finish around 25 hours.

Sometime in the middle of compilation I found this page for QNAP users:

http://mldonkey.sour...opic.php?t=4825

User fabtar has precompiled the binaries for different CPU arhitecture. One of them also matches the CPU on eTRAYz. So I took his binary and added it to new package of version 3.1.0. As for UTF8 problem. Did some changes in startup script so it "might" work properly now.

The problem is how to properly start it in background as it is not meant to be run as a daemon. I played a bit with some setting but then ran out of time. If you can't start it from APP Installer start it manualy from console with command:

/home/epkg/etc/init.d/mldonkey start

Also check this page for optimization tips:

http://www.shadowand...or-your-nas.htm

Give it a test.

Uauuuu!!!!! It's amazing!!! Thanks, a lot of thanks. Now MLdonkey don't change "aéïòo.avi" to "a___u.avi" and is very stable.

Much better. With aMule the eTRAYz needed to reboot every day, I was scheduled via cron. MDdonkey is more flexible, I can share various folders with diferent priorities, the web interface first time is a bit confusing (very different to aMule) but is more powerfull.

I only change in config:
-deactivated some options (direct download, torrent,...) and enable kademlia.
-add in Web infos tab: http://upd.emule-sec...y.net/nodes.dat and http://www.gruk.org/server.met.gz
-change upload rates

And add in searches.ini (section customiced sharing) a custom strategie:
  (compartits, {       recursive = true
       extensions = [
        ".avi";
        ".mkv";
        ".srt";]
       minsize = 0
       maxsize = 9223372036854775807
});

with this only are shared files with certain contitions.

Thanks and sorry for my english.

Trying out mldonkey 3.1.0-1 now, since after much trying aMule seems to be unable to run withouit crashes on etrayz :unsure:

So far everything seems to be working ok, it installed flawlessly, I changed the download dirs to those I use, and it is now happily running a few test downloads. Now I have to tweak the config and find an easy way to put file for download from other computers, but it will be worth it if I am able to have it running with etrayz crashing once in a while.

For external GUI client you can also use Sancho:

I tried it already yesterday, Sancho does look great. The web GUI for mldonkey doesn't look so nice, but it does have plenty of options.

For whatever reason I was just unable to get Sancho working with ed2k links, maybe because the core does not run on the same computer as the GUI. But I installed mldonkeyfox for Firefox, which is working great, so I did not bother trying to find out how to get it working with Sancho, I can click now any ed2k link on Firefox and it will get added on etrayz's mldonkey.

So far, so good! B)

No, only with elinks. For torrents I use ruTorrent.

Working great so far, after 5 days running non stop with 28Gb u/led and 48Gb d/led I am still wondering why I didn't ditch aMule earlier and gave MLdonkey a try. So many times my etrayz crashed with aMule, I am quite sure that withi MLdonkey it will go on forever.

aMule is gone for good, MLdonkey is here to stay. TheHijacker, maybe you should think about removing aMule from the list of available packages for the Installer, after all the time I wasted with it, and how smooth everything is with MLdonkey, I think aMule for etrayz is worthless (and it will probably be a time waster to anyone who tries to get it working right).

I don't have a need for torrents right now, but I will check out rTorrent and ruTorrent as soon as I do.

Thanks! :)

There was request to leave aMule inside. So I will not remove it. And when user gets problem with it he can come to this forum and read all the negative comments about it :)

I am glad mldonkey is working OK for you.

Enjoy!

Hello everybody!!

I'm having problems with rTorrent and with aMule, because often Etrayz take out of control, powered on but inaccessible trough SSH or Web. The only way is reboot.

Then i'm trying alternative for eDonkey and Torrents downloads and i'll find mldonkey. After installing it I've been searching for the option of manage torrents but is not present (or not founded).

Is compiled mldonkey with torrent plugin? Can I activate this function?

Thank you in advance!!

For torrents try Transmission.

Do you think that using Transmission will reduce the number of Forced reboots??
Is more "stable" or uses less resources from CPU?

I wrote a post to explain my frequents "hang up" and I had no answers.

If I use Etrayz with no Torrent or Amule active it can be near 1 month up, but if I use one of these it freezes every 2-3 days, max a week. And I don't find any linux log in /var/log to discover the reason.

Could you help me?

Thank you in advance
(and sorry for my poor English)
