Adding and submission rocks fine now. But browse feature does not work to me (maybe a thrid party issue?). All generated .png files show (imdb) code or html-string after title and rating and before the actors-listing. And there's no directors entry in the .png files. Just feedback, no criticism
A feature would be nice, to choose a movie manually (from imdb, etc.) if possible. Half the movies in my "test"-folder were scanned with different/false cover and descritpion. Don't know if it's due to that i have predominantly rare and unpopular stuff on hdd (most mainstream movies got no problems) or if there's trouble with my folders declaration: "Film Title (19XX) - Director's Name".
Is there a specific notation preferred for folders or video-files that the application handles best? I'm asking because i only named the folders correctly and not the video-files ..

1. The program only stores meta-data for individual files, not for VIDEO_TS folders. Does the jukebox not play VIDEO_TS folders (1:1 DVD rips)? If I have a structure with three folders, two being with individual files (AVI, MKV, ect.) and one being a folder with a VIDEO_TS sub folder, it does only store meta-data for the first two, despite the program lists 3 movies in status. Also, three movies is in the browse area, but no files are stores for the VIDEO_TS folder.
2. The 1280x720 background is cut to 1120x686 image, with the logo partly cut, is that expected?
3. If a movie cover is higher than the 686 pixels, it scales the background and creates a larger picture.
4. It generates HTML code on the picture along with the IMDB rating.
5. The results are really, really bad. I know this depends on accuracy of your file/folder names, however you have no change to manually change the data to a correct title, or edit the data in any way.
6. If it can't find data for one or more feature, it writes "UNKNOWN" all over, would it not be better to write "-" or similar?
7. The "Search" are is filled with NaN, null, unknown and other code words if the program can't find data for a title.
8. The code is clearly based on YAMJ, but does not contain any information and credits of such. Look at the folder "C:\ProgramData\Movie JukeBox", which contains all sorts of YAMJ parts, such as templates, ect. ect. The file "C:\ProgramData\Movie JukeBox\libraries.xml" even contain a node "nmtpath".
9. This is the page of the YAMJ license: http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/License. It says "Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes.". Even though this program is distributed for free, it is distributed for use with a commercial product, as an important part of the overall product. This is in my mind a commercial product.
10. The program is screen scraping IMDB and other sites. It is clearly in violation of IMDB usage terms: http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?usedatasoftware . It is very likely also in violation of terms of all the other websites used.
Regards,
Brian

It scans and finds the 12 movies in my test folder.
However, by using "Browse" the movie jukebox shows only 3 entries. Same in the "Search" view.....

- "Notice — For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work. The best way to do this is with a link to this web page."
And, since the tools is an essential part of a commercial product, I also think it violates this:
- "Noncommercial — You may not use this work for commercial purposes."
I know that the program is freely redistributed, however it is essential for the features of a commercial product to work, and can therefore be seen as a part of a commercial product.

GPL allows for commercial purposes... Also, if it runs as a plugin in a different process manner (as I have read in another forum), they may even release it under any license and charge money for it
Please read http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/gpl-faq.html#GPLAndPlugins
Look at: Can I release a non-free program that's designed to load a GPL-covered plug-in?
I agree regarding the credits though...

Seems you are right, however look further below where it says "License". There they link to the "Creative Commons License".
