I've just downloaded and read the user guide and noticed this

"If these instructions are followed correctly, then your warranty is still valid"

good to know

Quick question to clarify the warranty issue, is this the reseller warranty or the direct warranty with the manufacturer. Or is it just valid for Tranquil PC Customers, just a confirmation would be great as wouldn't like to think direct Xtreamer customers thinking they would be fine doing this and wrecking their warranty, so a quick yeah or no would be brill.
Cheers, Dave

The warranty question is a valid point. TheXtreamer.com have official word from Xtreamer.net that the manufacturers warranty is not voilated by using the XSC, as long as it is fitted as per the instructions. There are really only two issues to take note of - that 'could damage' the unit :

1) - the insertion and levering of a long instrument into the chassis, causing possible damage to components, this would voilate the warranty.
Instructions make it clear : "IMPORTANT - DO NOT insert the instrument in further than 10-15mm or the instrument may touch the electronics".

2) - the incorrect fitting of the XSC heatsink. Ie fitted without the XSC making good contact with the main chip.
Instructions make it clear : remove all original tape (to ensure a correct fit) -and also make sure the XSC heat sink in correctly inserted into the Xtreamer cabinet "Once in place firmly press the heat sink into place, ensuring that the four edges are all neatly in line with the plastic body"

There is NO NEED to open the main cabinet (or remove serial number label) when fitting the XSC heat sink.

I have read XSC manual. And I have a question regarding removing side cover...

All the time I thought that the "proper" way to begin with Xtreamer opening is to start with the screw under the warranty label. And then this goes further...

However in the manual you actually said that you start with screwdriver and you put in the line between casing and the cover. And then "use instrument to edge around". Is this really possible without make more or less some damage? The line is very narrow... And I don't have idea what "instrument" to use to "edge around"...

Hi Guys, Maybe it would be a good idea to roll a short video about the installation procedure and upload it to Youtube (or somewhere else).
